OUR VERDICT
Canon EOS R6 is a popular camera which has led many photographers to upgrade from their Canon DSLRs to mirrorless models. It has many of the same features as the Canon R5 or R3, but with a lower pixel number and better low-light capability. Canon EOS R6 Mark II has a 24.2MP pixel count, a popular resolution which balances detail with noise reduction. The newer camera will convince DSLR users to switch over to mirrorless cameras, thanks to its improved AF system and video capabilities. It could even convince some R6 shooters to upgrade despite the price.
What is Canon EOS R6 Mark II?
The 20MP Canon EOS R6, and the 45MP Canon EOS R5 were the two cameras that ignited the EOS R line and the move to mirrorless photography in July 2020.
Canon EOS R6 Mark II replaces the original R6 and brings with it a new sensor that has a 20% improvement in resolution. It also comes with a faster processor, enhanced subject detection, and better video, among other improvements.
Canon has designed the EOS R6 II to appeal to ‘independent creators of content’. This includes videographers, sports or action photographers, and wedding photographers.
