DaVinci Resolve 19, the latest version of Blackmagic Design’s video editing software, introduces powerful new features that are aimed at increasing the efficiency and creativity for video professionals. This major update uses the DaVinci neural engine to introduce advanced AI features. Over 100 new features are available to improve the workflow in editing, colour correction and audio post-production.
DaVinci Resolve 19 uses artificial intelligence to speed up video editing and post-production. The new transcription features enable editors to edit more precisely and locate speakers by working directly with the transcribed audio. AI-driven voice separation and dialogue level adjustment help clean up audio to ensure clear dialogue is at the forefront.

Colourists will be able to use the new ColorSlice 6 vector palette, as well as a tool to create film looks that mimic photometric processes. This gives images richer tones, reminiscent of film, and cinematic qualities. VFX artists will also benefit from an enhanced set of Universal Scene Description tools (USD) and a new multi-rotoscoping feature, which simplifies complicated rotoscoping.
DaVinci Resolve 19 is compatible with Blackmagic Cloud. This allows users to host their project libraries on the cloud. This feature allows real-time collaboration between editors, colourists and VFX artists as well as audio engineers, from anywhere on the planet. The Organizations app has been updated to allow for easier management of access by teams to projects and storage. This improves group workflows.
This update includes several tools that aim to optimize the editing process. The new broadcast replay tools on the cut page enhance live production by allowing multicamera live broadcast editing. The simplified proxy workflow enables seamless switching between original camera footage and proxies. This speeds up the editing process.
Blackmagic Proxy Generator creates proxies automatically from camera originals. This allows users to edit faster by using lighter and more manageable files. The automation is enhanced by intelligent media management tools that make it easier to relink media in collaborative environments.
DaVinci Resolve 19 is pushing the limits with its support of emerging technologies and formats. Software now supports Dolby vision and HDR grading. OpenTimelineIO compatibility is also added to enhance interoperability between NLE systems.
