OUR VERDICT
The Fujifilm X100VI represents a natural evolution of the X100 Series, with a high resolution sensor and a cutting-edge focusing system which can use AI-trained subject detection. The Fujifilm X100VI also comes with a hybrid screen and a touch screen that tilts, a lot of control and Fujifilm’s superb colour understanding and image quality. This is not your typical compact camera.
What is the Fujifilm X100VI camera?
The Fujifilm X100VI, the sixth model in the X100 compact camera series, features a 40.2MP APS C format sensor with X-Processor 5, the latest version of the X100 processor. This is the same combination we saw in the Fujifilm T5, and Fujifilm H2. The Fujifilm X100VI has AI-based subject detection and focusing.
The X100VI, like its predecessor the Fujifilm X100V has a fixed lens of 23mm f/2.0 that provides an equivalent focal length to 35mm. This focal length is often used for street, environmental portrait, travel, and documentary photography.
Fujifilm gave the X100Vi a control layout and design that is almost identical to the X100V. This means the X100Vi has a set of dials for controlling the exposure. A hybrid viewfinder combines both an optical and electronic viewfinder and a touchscreen that can be tilted is also available.
